Becoming The Bold Type

Like everything in life, the idea for this blog came from a show I have binged incessantly through lockdown 2020. The Bold Type (Amazon Prime). A show about women making a difference by embracing who they are. Owning their stories and I thought it was about time I started to own mine. So I'm following Jane's lead and writing this.
I haven't had an incredibly unique and groundbreaking struggle. But that's why this is important, this is a voice to add to that chorus of people out there demanding to be heard. Demanding change. I learned from Kat that all voices should be heard, all of us add value to the conversation.
I spent so many years afraid and ashamed, to acknowledge my past, to admit the problems I'd faced because of it. But that also means that I deny my own strength to survive the hurdles that I faced.
I am a survivor! Just like Jacqueline, it's never too late to take the weight and help inspire others to do the same.
Most of all I learnt that there is nothing stronger than women supported by women. We all have our own secrets and our own pasts but there's so much that we share. It's power, emotion, like a walking mother nature. Only defined by the labels we choose for ourselves.
This is a space to share the trials and triumphs of life after trauma. A space to be Bold
